Akshita Cheruku is a senior undergraduate student at Loyola Chicago, majoring in molecular and cellular neuroscience. She is currently collaborating with Dr. Norberto Grzywacz on two projects. The first involves the aesthetics of movement in dance, with a focus on cultural values. In turn, the second is a collaboration with Drs. Norberto Grzywacz and Rebecca Silton on the effects of Major Depressive Disorder on aesthetic values.
While my academic journey has fueled my profound interest in the intricate workings of the human brain and cellular processes, my passion also lies in applying this knowledge to a career in medicine. Aspiring to become a doctor, I am driven by a genuine curiosity for the human body and its capabilities. My experiences, from volunteering in healthcare settings to shadowing specialists, have solidified my commitment to contributing meaningfully to the field. As I approach the next phase of my academic and professional journey, I am excited to merge my scientific foundation with a compassionate approach to serving others through patient care!
