Creativity emerged in evolution so animals could solve problems for which no answer was available. No surprisingly, therefore, the brain has specialized mechanisms for creativity. These mechanisms are an interacting set of networks, which find insights and evaluate them. We have been developing and analyzing computational models for these networks and performing experiments to test these models.
