About
Jiaan Mansuri entered the lab Spring of 2019 as a Research Assistant, interested in exploring connections between his passions for neuroscience and the creative arts. Jiaan graduated from Georgetown University in 2020 with a Bachelor of Science in Neurobiology, where he studied for his senior research thesis, “The Aesthetic Appraisal of Rhythm in Music.” He is currently in medical school at Temple University.
His passion for rhythm stemmed from his work as a drummer in the band Back to Yours, with whom he still plays and performs. Since graduating, Jiaan has continued the progress made during his undergraduate years in the lab and is working towards publishing his current study with the lab, “Systematic Errors in the Perception of Rhythm.”
Along with this work, he moved back to his hometown where he offered a full-time period of service for the Northeast Bahá’í Regional Council while applying to medical school.
