About

Sebastien Berquet is a French & American researcher at LaNeNa, where he investigates how the human brain perceives aesthetic values encountered throughout life. Sebastien was born and raised in Paris (France), where he received his High-School Scientific Baccalaureat with honors, and later moved to Chicago to complete his B.S in Molecular & Cellular Neuroscience at Loyola University. Sebastien also serves as an Admin & Online Lab Manager, responsible for the development of LaNeNa’s presence online.

Sebastien strongly believes that international collaborations, free & open access to scientific information, as well as interdisciplinary efforts are required to answer any of Humanity and Neuroscience’s greatest questions. In 2023, Sebastien moved to Baltimore to join the Johns Hopkins University, Whiting School of Engineering as a graduate student to expand his scientific knowledge outside of his field, in areas related to Biomedical & Biotech Engineering, where he hopes to learn & one day develop innovative solutions to improve life, and create a better future both as individuals & as a society. Today, Sebastien is specialized in Molecular and Cellular Neuroscience, Psychology & Biology of Perception, Neural Disease/ Degeneration/ Regeneration, and Neuroscientific Research. Most recently, he has been working on the completion of his M.S in Biomedical Engineering and is expected to graduate in 2025.

Aside from being an international student & neuroscientist, he is a huge European soccer fan, his favorite teams include Paris SG and the French national team. Sebastien continued playing soccer at Loyola, where he joined the Loyola Club Soccer team, and even served as a Financial Officer on the board for a year, aside from sports, Sebastien also holds a Nationally Registered EMT license and can speak English, French & Spanish.
